Datasets for Monitoring of a Passive-ISCO Experiment to Remediate a Chlorinated Ethene Plume, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida

Recalcitrant chlorinated ethenes in low-permeability units positioned adjacent to permeable aquifers are problematic because they are a prolonged source of contamination. Passive in situ chemical oxidation (P-ISCO) is a remediation method where the slow release of permanganate can oxidize chlorinated ethenes into less harmful chemicals. The success of P-ISCO is dependent on the effectiveness of delivery to contaminated zones. Because of its strong electrical signal, the disbursal of permanganate can be tracked using borehole geophysical logging methods such as electromagnetic induction (EM). This data release contains data of time-series logging of EM and natural-gamma ray logging (NGR) to evaluate P-ISCO effectiveness based on disbursal characteristics at a contamination site, Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida. Associated data were collected to compliment the geophysical logging including groundwater levels, chemistry on subsurface contaminants, specific conductance, and temperature data from wells.
