This data release contains 18 rasters in GeoTIFF format (tagged image file format with geospatial metadata) representing spatially distributed seasonal estimates of deicing salt application across the DRB from winter years 2015-2023 at a 30-meter spatial resolution using Clear Roads State Winter Maintenance Survey Data. The Clear Roads data contains state data on the weight (U.S. tons) of deicing salt used for winter maintenance reported by the state's Department of Transportation. Data is available for the winter years of 2014/2015 through 2022/2023. However, data is not available for every winter for each state in the DRB. Data for New Jersey is taken directly from the New Jersey Department of Transportation Website (see Process Steps for more information).
