Attributes for NHDPlus Version 2.1 Catchments and Modified Routing of Upstream Watersheds for the Conterminous United States: Estimated population served by public water, 2013

This metadata record documents 2 datasets representing population served by fresh water from public supply by NHDPlus v2.1 catchment within the conterminous United States for 2013. Provided as groundwater and surface water source for public supply, the source data report total population served by permit. Permit numbers cover multiple sources so the total population served was distributed evenly across the number of sources per permit. For each dataset (groundwater or surface water), population served was divided by the number of intakes and intersected spatially with the NHDPlus v2.1 catchment.
