    <descript>
These datasets consist of a workspace (folder) containing a
collection of gridded datasets plus a personal geodatabase containing
several vector datasets. These datasets are designed to be used with
the ArcHydro Tools, developed by ESRI in partnership with the U.S.
Geological Survey, StreamStats Development Team. The datasets, together
with the ArcHydro Tools, allow users to delineate watersheds and compute
several watershed characteristics. The datasets are distributed in
folders named for the 8-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) each covers.
The data structure is the same for each HUC.
<purpose>These datasets were produced to support the StreamStats
application, as well as to develop a model of perennial streams in
Idaho.</purpose>
<supplinf>Each 8-digit HUC folder contains the following:

Basic grids used by ArcHydro Tools:

cat Catchment grid
dem Digital elevation model, from NED, projected to IDTM83 projection, 10-meter resolution, elevations in centimeters
fac Flow accumulation grid
fac_global	Global flow accumulation grid (includes cell counts from any upstream HUCs). Present only for HUCs downstream of others.
fdr Flow direction grid
lnk Stream link grid
str Stream grid used to define catchments
str900 Dense stream grid (900-cell threshold) used for display and to guide delineation

Geodatabase feature classes used by ArcHydro Tools:

Catchment Polygon version of cat grid
AdjointCatchment Polygons representing aggregated catchments upstream of each non-headwater catchment
DrainageLine ArcHydro drainage line feature class
DrainagePoint ArcHydro drainage point feature class
LongestFlowPathCat Longest flowpath in each catchment, computed by ArcHydro
LongestFlowPathAdjCat	Longest flowpath in each adjoint catchment, computed by ArcHydro

Additional information about the above datasets and how they are used may be found in the help for the ArcHydro Tools.

Parameter grids used to compute basin characteristics:

bsldem10m	Slope grid based on 10-meter resolution DEM
nfsl30 Grid of cells having slopes greater than or equal to 30 percent and that are north-facing (aspects less than 60 and greater than 300 degrees). Value 1 if true, 0 if false.
slop30 Grid of cells having slopes greater than or equal to 30 percent. Value 1 if true, 0 if false.

Continuous parameter grids of basin characteristics:

bsld10_cpg	Average upstream basin slope for every cell, based on a 10-m DEM
elev_cpg Average upstream basin elevation for every cell, in feet
forest_cpg Average upstream forested area for every cell, in percent of area
nfsl30_cpg	Average for every cell of upstream percent of cells having slopes greater than or equal to 30 percent and that are north-facing (aspects less than 60 and greater than 300 degrees)
precip_cpg	Average upstream basin mean annual precipitation for every cell, in tenths of an inch
slop30_cpg	Average for every cell of upstream basin percent of cells having slopes greater than or equal to 30 percent

For a description of the development of continuous parameter grids, see the text of USGS Data Series Report DS412.
An appendix contains the Arc Macro Language code used to compute these grids.</supplinf>
