The dataset is the daily count of Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) passing through a fish counting weir on the Pilgrim River from 2003 to 2014. Also, included in the data set is the daily temperature and river height measured at the weir (65.103071°, -164.824046°).The fish weir was operated during the summer (late June to mid-September) by the Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation.
<purpose>To explore if changing river conditions have altered the migrating cues of Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) near the northern limits of their range.</purpose>
<supplinf>Sockeye Salmon count data is alternatively available on the website of the Alaska Department of Fish and Wildlife from 2003 to 2011 (https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/sf/FishCounts/).</supplinf>

        <procdesc>METHODS - FIELD:

Daily counts of Sockeye Salmon were collected at a fish weir from 2003 until 2014. The fish weir was located midway between the mouth of the river (65.103071°, -164.824046°) and the spawning grounds and was operated during the summer by the Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation with assistance from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. The weir trap was monitored 24 hours a day and checked hourly. River temperature and river height were measured in situ in June through September from 2003 to 2014 at the weir site with a handheld thermometer and stream gauge plate.</procdesc>
