Fanno Creek is a tributary to the Tualatin River and flows though parts of the southwest
Portland metropolitan area. The stream is heavily influenced by urban runoff and shows
characteristic flashy streamflow and poor water quality commonly associated with urban
streams. This data set represents the locations where water-quality samples were collected.
This data set was developed as part of an USGS carbon study that examines sources of
carbon-rich organic material along Fanno Creek. In order to quantify what type of material
was present in the stream, discrete water-quality samples were collected.

Data are complete.
Data collected in the field using handheld GPS. All points had accuracy rating of +/- 27 feet or better. Data collected with handheld GPS device in the field and compared against 2009 NAIP imagery on the computer using ArcGIS software. Site locations verified by second team member.
Rough locations for sample sites marked on topographic map. Final locations shown here were generated in the field using handheld GPS device.
