      <abstract>These datasets include physical and geochemical lab results of sediment samples collected from August 2016 to October 2018. Upland samples were collected at randomly selected sites in the watershed using the geographic information system (GIS) site-selection procedure. Passive suspended-sediment samplers were installed at three sites and sampled monthly. Streambank and streambed sediment were collected, if present at rapid geomorphic assessment (RGA) sites, at eroding banks and areas of soft, fine-grained bed sediment, respectively. Samples underwent a particle size analysis and were analyzed for a suite of trace elements. These results were used in the Sediment Source Assessment Tool (Sed_SAT) to help identify upland and stream corridor sources of suspended and stream bed sediment.</abstract>
      <purpose>These samples were collected and used to identify and apportion source contributions of upland and streambank sources. This information will enable resource managers to improve how different land uses are managed in order to decrease delivery of sediment and the nutrients that travel with this sediment to streams. Ultimately, a decrease in sediment and nutrient concentrations in the East River will decrease what is delivered to the Lower Fox River and Green Bay, preventing the conditions that foster harmful algal blooms.</purpose>

Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene used the ESS INO Method 420.0 Thermo Finnigan ELEMENT2 High Resolution ICP-MS (EPA Method 200.8) method and the milestone microwave digestion system (ESS INO IOP 550.0) for elemental analyses (Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene 2016a; 2016b). The elemental analysis included a near total digestion using three acids. Data is also available at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Surface Water Integrated Monitoring System (SWIMS) Database; Wisconsin DNR users and external users with a Web Access Management System (WAMS) account can access the database at  https://apps.dnr.wi.gov/swims/Projects/ProjectDetail?id=129143166.         <procdesc>The Plum_ParticleSize_PhysicalData dataset contains the lab analysis results for particle size data in field collected upland, suspended sediment, streambank, and streambed samples in the study area. Samples were wet sieved with a 63 micrometer Teflon sieve so that tests were conducted on the less than 63 micrometer fraction of the sample. USGS Cascades Laboratory analyzed the samples using a SediGraph 5120 for particle size distribution, and I-5753 method for loss on ignition (LOI) to analyze organic matter content. The attributes D50_calulated and LOI_mg_kg are recorded in the Plum_SedSAT_GeochemicalData dataset as it was formatted for use in the Sediment Source Apportionemnt Tool (Sed_SAT).</procdesc>
