The input data package included in this data release contains a total of four (4) datasets. These datasets contain a list of the water quality constituents that were included in the trend analysis as well as historical data used to analyze trends in each of the water quality constituents for selected streams throughout Puerto Rico. This data release also includes the dataset that was not used for analysis during the preparation of data to ensure the data were adequate for the trend analysis. The water quality data was retrieved from the Water Quality Portal (www.waterqualitydata.us), and includes water-quality data for nutrients, physical parameters, major ions, metals, and streamflow data. The period of record for each site and each water quality constituent varies and includes data collected between water years 1958 and 2022.

<purpose>The main purpose of these datasets is to provide the data used for trend analysis at selected surface water quality monitoring sites throughout Puerto Rico. These datasets were used to evaluate water-quality trends over the full length of record available for the site-parameter pair and three time periods: 2008-2022, 2013-2022, and 2017-2022.</purpose>
