    <descript>
This shapefile is the 2014 agricultural fields from the California Department of Water Resources intersected with the Russian River Integrated Hydrologic Model (RRIHM) grid. Spatially, this data shows the boundaries of the 2014 agricultural fields with the model grid dissected into the fields. The shapefile attribute table shows the data from both the agricultural fields and the model grid shapefiles. The RRIHM grid can be found in it's own data release on the Russian River Integrated Hydrologic Model (RRIHM) Coupled Ground-Water and Surface-Water Flow Model Science Base community page.
      <purpose>The intersected shapefile was used to determine the type of crop in model grid cells and whether that crop was irrigated. Crop types and irrigation status in each cell were used to calculate the fraction of each model cell that is irrigated, information which was used as input in the model.</purpose>

    <overview>
      <eaover>The shapefile was made up of 2 shapefiles that were intersected: The model grid for the Russian River Integrated Hydrologic Model (RRIHM) and the 2014 land use agricultural fields from the Department of Water Resources (DWR). The fields from the model grid shapefile are: HRU_ID, HRU_ROW, HRU_COL. The fields from DWR land use agricultural fields shapefile are: FID_CropTy (agricultural field ID), Crop2014 (Crop type), and Acres (area of field in acres).

The shapefile was used to determine crop types in the model grid. This is information was then used to calculate the irrigated fraction of each model cell.</eaover>
