    <descript>
This dataset includes the Manning's roughness (Manning's n) and upstream water-surface elevation calibration equations for the Wallens Bend (WB) reach on the Clinch River near Kyles Ford, Tennessee, based on discharge and water-surface elevation data collected between April 14, 2021 and September 8, 2021. Discharge measurements were collected by USGS staff from the Columbia Environmental Research Center using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) and Real Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems (RTK GNSS) positioning. Calibration was performed to produce optimal values of downstream water-surface slope and Manning's roughness (Manning's n) for a one-dimensional hydraulic model of the WB reach.
      <purpose>These hydraulic model calibration equations were produced in support of research examining the transport of freshwater mussel environmental DNA in rivers.</purpose>

        <procdesc>Calibration procedures yielded a single optimal downstream water-surface slope value across the range of calibrated discharges. The calibrated values for Manning's roughness in the active channel and the measured upstream water-surface elevation values for the main stem and the North Fork tributary were used to create regression relationships between discharge and each parameter. These curves were generated by fitting power law or linear functions to the calibrated values.</procdesc>
