This metadata document describes the data file 'Sinking_Pond_volume_stage_relationship.csv' for the relationship between pond volume and pond stage (i.e., the volume rating curve) for Sinking Pond. This relationship was used to transform simulated pond volume into simulated pond stage in the Sinking Pond hydrologic model.
<purpose>The purpose of this dataset is to represent the relationship between pond volume and pond stage (i.e., the volume rating curve) for Sinking Pond (Wolfe and others, 2004). This relationship was used to transform simulated pond volume into simulated pond stage.</purpose>
<supplinf>Spatial domain information: The spatial domain listed in this metadata document refers to the bounding box of the drainage basin (i.e., contributing basin) for Sinking Pond, referred to in the Entity and Attribute section as “the basin”. A map of the location of Sinking Pond within this basin is provided in figure 2 of Wolfe and others (2004). The bounding box of Sinking Pond (referred to in the Entity and Attribute section as “the pond”) is: West Bounding Coordinate: -86.070228; East Bounding Coordinate: -86.063169; North Bounding Coordinate: 35.415869; South Bounding Coordinate: 35.407459. The latitude and longitude coordinates for the Sinking Pond water-level gage (U.S. Geological Survey site 03596075 Sinking Pond at AEDC, TN) are 35.41000000, -86.06972222.
