Gridded uniform hazard peak ground acceleration data and 84th-percentile peak ground acceleration data used to calculate the Maximum Considered Earthquake Geometric Mean (MCEG) peak ground acceleration (PGA) values of the 2020 NEHRP Recommended Seismic Provisions and 2022 ASCE/SEI 7 Standard for Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.

The Maximum Considered Earthquake Geometric Mean (MCEG) peak ground acceleration (PGA) values of the 2020 NEHRP Recommended Seismic Provisions and 2022 ASCE/SEI 7 Standard are derived from the downloadable data files. For each site class, the MCEG peak ground acceleration (PGA_M) is calculated via the following equation:
PGA_M = min[ PGA_MUH, max( PGA_M84th , PGA_MDLL ) ]
where
PGA_MUH = uniform-hazard peak ground acceleration
PGA_M84th = 84th-percentile peak ground acceleration
PGA_MDLL = deterministic lower limit spectral acceleration
The data are used to calculate the Maximum Considered Earthquake Geometric Mean (MCEG) peak ground acceleration (PGA) values of the 2020 NEHRP Recommended Seismic Provisions and 2022 ASCE/SEI 7 Standard.

This data set is based on a seismological model. The following report provides information on quality assessment for the data set:
Mueller, C.S., Haller, K.M., Luco, Nicholas, Petersen, M.D., and Frankel, A.D., 2012, Seismic hazard assessment for Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 2012–1015, 52 p. https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2012/1015/
None.
Data outside the physical boundaries of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands have been included, although they should not be used.
The location of features is based on calculations of a seismological model for the study area. The location of each point is considered to be correct within the confines of computer accuracy.
The gridded data are based on the 2012 Seismic Hazard Model for Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. The uniform-hazard peak ground accelerations are calculated using a suite of hazard curves calculated for an equally spaced grid of points covering Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. The 84th-percentile peak ground accelerations are also derived from the hazard model. There are separate files for NEHRP site classes A, B, B/C, C, C/D, D, D/E, and E.

These files contain a grid of points. The first line is the header line. Subsequent lines contain the latitude and longitude of the point followed by the uniform-hazard peak ground acceleration, or 84th-percentile peak ground acceleration value for that single geographic point. Acceleration values are in units of g.
