Allotment values are presented in units of acre-feet. This dataset was used to constrain model-simulated monthly surface-water diversions to the 57 WBS within the seven canal service units in the RGTIHM, and as observations during model calibration. This dataset was filtered for use as observations during model calibration. The months corresponding to the first, second, third, and fourth annual quartiles of monthly flow at the Rio Grande below Caballo Dam stream gage (see the Annual Quartile attribute in the Rio_Grande_below_Caballo_fractions tabular dataset) were selected from this dataset for use in model calibration. The monthly surface-water diversion allotments were derived by scaling the annual allocations for the six canal service units used in the Lower Rio Grande Basin groundwater flow model (SSPA, 2007) (see the Allocation_by_Service_Units tabular dataset) by the fractions of the area of each WBS with irrigation-water supplied by a combination of groundwater and surface-water relative to the total area within the service unit containing the WBS with irrigation-water supplied by a combination of groundwater and surface-water (see the RGTIHM_Acreage_by_WBS tabular dataset), and then distributing the scaled allocations on a monthly basis using the monthly fractions of annual flow at the Rio Grande below Caballo Dam stream gage (see the Rio_Grande_below_Caballo_fractions tabular dataset).
