This dataset contains annual surface-water diversion allocations from 1940 through 2014 for the six canal service units used in the Lower Rio Grande Basin groundwater flow model (SSPA, 2007). Allocation values were derived from annual Rio Grande Project surface-water diversion allocations to lands within New Mexico and Texas extracted from the Allocation spreadsheet (Ferguson, I., Bureau of Reclamation, written commun., 2016). Allocation values are presented in units of acre-feet.
<purpose>This dataset was used to derive monthly surface-water diversion allocations for the 57 water-balance subregions (WBS) within the seven canal service units simulated in the Rio Grande Transboundary Integrated Hydrologic Model (RGTIHM) (see the RGTIHM_Allotments_by_WBS tabular dataset).</purpose>
